It updated itself to the latest firmware and we were in business. It just fired right up and even connected to the net in DHCP mode automatically. If all I was doing was setting up this MX4200 node, setup would have been a breeze. I was relieved to see that newer WiFi6 Velop nodes were backward compatible with the WiFi5 nodes. I didn't want to get rid of our existing mesh infrastructure but wanted something that would work with it. We recently upgraded to StarLink internet from a bonded dSL line that caps at 20Mbps, and all of a sudden, the lack of throughput was very noticeable. Our house is a single level, wood-frame house with less than 1,500 square feet. But even here, the download + upload speed test doesn't kick off for 30-45 seconds (or more). Using Speedtest, I can see that the download and upload speeds are excellent. It has never worked properly for a solid two weeks before forcing me to spend another hour or two with support. I estimate I have spent 80 hours over the past 90 days attempting to get our wifi functioning properly. I purchased this router directly from Linksys at the recommendation of the support person who could not solve problems with my older Linksys router. But the latency is insane! (for older folks, think back to the days of dial-up modems). Once the download starts to happen, it happens quickly. Run for Your Life, Do Not Buy Imagine that every time you click to a new website, you have to wait 30-45 seconds for the first elements to start being delivered.
